Check ID SA now has a mobile scanner experience for teams that need fast, structured validation away from a desktop. The app is built for front-desk, field, and operations workflows where a team member needs to scan a barcode and see the validation result immediately.
The mobile app can scan supported South African ID book and ID card barcodes, as well as South African drivers licence barcodes. It then shows the structural validation result and decoded fields in the app, while keeping the CheckID promise clear: this is structural ID validation, not a Home Affairs lookup, biometric check, credit check, or proof of identity.
Built for Business plan teams
Mobile scanning is included on the Business plan. Business subscribers may use unlimited mobile scans across unlimited registered devices and unlimited team members in their organisation. Devices check in against the team entitlement, so a team can manage access without sharing one person's account.
The mobile app is especially useful for teams that already use CheckID for API, bulk, or web validations but also need a quick barcode workflow at reception, during intake, or when documents are handled away from a desk.
Privacy remains the product boundary
The scanner does not change CheckID's core privacy posture. The product validates and decodes the document barcode for the active session and keeps raw ID data out of persistent CheckID storage, analytics, and support systems. The screenshots in this post use owner-approved public-domain sample material.
