Home Affairs ID status

Looking for your Home Affairs ID status?

CheckID can tell you whether a 13-digit number is structurally valid. It cannot see whether an ID application is ready, blocked, issued, or available for collection.

Why CheckID cannot show an application status

Application and collection status comes from Department of Home Affairs systems. CheckID does not query those systems and has no access to the National Population Register.

What CheckID can check

CheckID checks the number's length, encoded date, citizenship indicator, gender sequence, register digit, and Luhn checksum. A structurally valid result does not mean that Home Affairs issued the number or that an application is complete.
